RERACKED sources, restores and styles clothing from the 1920s through the early 2000s — archival designer, bridal, furs, the odd thing nobody else would have kept. Floral Spell works in season, for editorial, events and the tables people actually sit at every week.
We share a split-level ground floor on West 29th. One studio holds racks and a fitting room; the other holds cold storage, buckets and a work table that is never clean. Most days the two bleed into each other — a gown gets pinned next to an armful of amaranth, a shoot borrows from both.
It is a working studio first. It opens for appointments, shoots, installations and one brand at a time in the front room.
Kimberly Yetka-Rosario: a life in fowers
Kimberly is an editorial florist and the Floral Director at Anthony Taccetta Event Design. Two decades in, with the most beautiful flowers in the world available to her, she couldn't shake the feeling they were worth more than a centerpiece at a short event.
Her eye runs on style and unexpected objects — whatever nobody would think to put in an arrangement. The work is seasonal and slightly unruly: clematis that leans, amaranth left long enough to fall, grasses gone to seed.
It comes to life, quite literally, in The Orchid Room — her hidden floral salon, an indoor enchanted garden in the middle of Manhattan, behind a vintage bridal salon. When a bride, a brand or a photographer is in the building, the flowers do not have to be ordered from anywhere.
Flowers are the beginning.

I started collecting at twelve and writing about clothes in 2002. Twelve years in fashion marketing followed, then a shop in Hudson, then Kingston, now this floor.
What I do is not selling gowns. It is finding the piece — 1930s bias silk, a 1950s faille, a 1990s slip that has already been to more parties than you have — and then styling it so it belongs to the person wearing it. Colleen handles restoration, alterations and reformation, so a dress that was never your size becomes yours.
Bridal appointments run an hour and a half and are usually longer. The outside noise is not happening in here. We are playing dress up.
The dress is the occasion.

A gown found and fitted here, flowers designed in the next room, both seen together before the day instead of on it. Bouquet, install and dress in one conversation.
Editorial
Archive, flowers, daylight and a floor worth shooting on. Stylists and photographers book the space with access to both studios.

The storefront space on West 29th, let to one brand at a time, by fit. Racks, staging, florals and install handled in-house.
