It begins with an authentic 1920s silk gown — a garment that has already lived a hundred years. Rather than leave it to the archive, Colleema took it as a foundation and built outward: preserving the original silk slip at its core, then surrounding it with layer upon layer of pure silk chiffon, each one draped, cut, and finished entirely by hand.
The result is a true recouture — not a restoration, not a reproduction, but a new work of design grown from an antique one. A sculptural chiffon cowl gathers at the neck. Panels cascade from the shoulders into a weightless cape. The skirt floats from an elevated waist in layers of chiffon over century-old silk. Every seam and every fall of fabric reflects couture-level construction and an extraordinary eye.
What makes it rare isn’t only its age. It’s that nothing else like it exists — and nothing else like it can. The original garment is one of a kind. The reconstruction is one of a kind. Together they make a single, unrepeatable piece that’s lightweight, high end fabric dances on the body when worn, caught by the slightest movement or a gentle breeze.
And unlike most antique bridal — too fragile to wear, destined to stay behind glass — this gown was rebuilt to be lived in. To move. To last another lifetime.
